Programmatic identity for generative art exhibition Algorythms
The identity is a typographic composition, that by stacking the exhibition description and artists on display, reveal the name of the exhibition vertically across the entire composition. This emphasises the wordplay in the title – an algorithmic approach to providing a visual rhythm. The composition is monospaced and heavily indented, as a clear reference to computer programming, which lies at the foundation of the art on display. As for the execution, the composition consists of a 28x10 grid, in which each cell contains a row of letters that allowed us to create a range different compositions, revealing the artists name along with the title of the artwork - all while having the exhibition name on display.

The identity utilizes core structural web technologies so that the identity could be integrated as a layer, without trying to emulate the art itself. The whole composition is orchestrated using CSS and moving the rows of separate letters horizontally, at different key strokes — providing a highly mechanical feel to a highly technological identity.
